Guided tour of the Théâtre du Nord

Students from the Alliance Française de Lille Métropole had the privilege of taking part in an exclusive guided tour of Lille's Théâtre du Nord, an enriching experience that gave them a behind-the-scenes look at this emblematic institution on Lille's cultural scene.

Welcomed by the guide, the students were immersed in the fascinating history of the theater, from its humble beginnings to its current international renown. Through corridors adorned with photos and posters of past productions, every nook and cranny of the theater revealed captivating anecdotes and memories of memorable events.

The tour took them backstage, where they discovered the actors' dressing rooms, impressive sets and elaborate costumes that come to life on stage. They learned the secrets of staging, and the technical and artistic challenges encountered when creating a theatrical production.

At the end of the visit, the students had the chance to attend rehearsals for a show that was being prepared. This was an opportunity for them to familiarize themselves with the vocabulary of the theater, particularly that of a director. The visit was a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of Lille's theater scene and immerse themselves in the richness of French-speaking culture.
